COLLEGE HISTORY:
It was a dream of Mid India Board Education of Nurses League of CMAI to prepare Indian Nurses in Education and Administration especially for Hindi areas of the country as early as in 40’s. It started Graduate School for Nurses in 1945 with the first nursing course in Ward Administration, Teaching and Supervision at Jackman Memorial Hospital, Bilaspur. The Sister Tutor syllabus was developed by Ms. Ruth I Mitchell. After Ms. Mac Murchy’s untimely death Ms. Ruth Harner, Ms. Florence Nafzigar, Ms. Matilda Miese served as Directors for short periods. OBJECTIVE & AIM
-
We believe in God The Father who loved people enough to send His Son Jesus Christ to bring them closer to Him and to each other.
-
We believe that the teachings of Jesus enable us to be actively concerned with physical, social, mental, and spiritual well being of every individual. Further, we believe nurses; as well qualified professionals are an integral and necessary part of a collaborative health care delivery team; promoting health, preventing diseases and providing therapeutic care.
-
We believe that higher nursing education will provide opportunities for nurses to develop to their fullest potential as professional nurses and citizens so that they may help their people and society to achieve the physical, social, mental and spiritual well being that we desire for all. The dynamic processes of planning, providing and evaluating nursing care are necessary to meet the unique needs of individuals, their families and the communities.
-
We believe that the principles of communication are a fundamental requirement for quality education and thus Hindi and English will be the medium for instruction.
-
We believe that registered qualified nurses can become competent and effective nurse teachers and administrators in hospitals, institutions and the community. This can be achieved with the additional knowledge of principles and concepts and related sciences, which must then be applied to the practice of nursing, administration and education.
-
We believe that the teaching-learning process should be learner centered thus calling for an ongoing, individualistic approach to teaching.
